How we use your information: OpenChannels requires a name and valid email address for each of our registered users. Your email address is hidden from anyone other than an OpenChannels administrator. Currently only two OpenChannels Team Members (John Davis and Nick Wehner) have access to this information. Your email address allows you to register for newsletters and notifications sent by OpenChannels. We may use your personal information to contact you if we notice problems with your user account due to errors with the website - we like to keep things working smoothly. We may also use your personal information to update you of major changes to the website, or to follow-up on questions or comments you may have posted to the website.
How we may share your information: Your personal information is only shared with the OpenChannels Team and the administrators of our subdomains. We never sell your information to third parties.
Security measures: The OpenChannels Team works hard to make sure our site is free of spam and malware. However, such security cannot be completely guaranteed. All content added to the website by the OpenChannels Team has been scanned for malware. For example, all linked files in the Literature Library were passed through a malware scanner (Sophos Endpoint Security) prior to being uploaded to the website. We think this helps significantly reduce the threat of encountering malware through our site, but because this is a dynamic, community-driven website, we do not warrant the security of content uploaded by our users.
Linked sites: We often provide links on this website to other sites of interest. Your use of such linked websites is subject to the privacy statements of the providers of those websites. The OpenChannels Team encourages you to be aware when you leave this website and to read the privacy statements of each website you visit.
